Last updated: October 27, 2026 · Version 1 — these terms are being reviewed by our attorney. If anything changes, we'll tell you before the new version takes effect.
Who we are: Verna Software LLC, a Kansas limited liability company (Kansas Business ID 10093365), operating the VoltCare platform ("VoltCare," "we," "us"). Who you are: a homeowner (or resident with authority over the property) using VoltCare to get help from licensed local contractors ("you"). These terms are presented and accepted when you create your account; your acceptance is recorded with a timestamp and this document's version.
VoltCare is free for you — for life. You tell us what's wrong in your own words, we route it to a licensed, verified local contractor, you watch who's coming and what it costs in real time, and the job isn't finished until you say it's finished. You pay the contractor for the work, at the contractor's rates. You never pay VoltCare anything, and VoltCare never marks up the work.
No membership fee, no monthly fee, no per-request fee, no card on file to ask for help. Ever. If VoltCare someday offers optional paid extras, the things free today stay free — this promise is not "free-for-now." What you do pay: the contractor, for the work performed, at their rates — shown to you live as the work happens. VoltCare adds nothing on top.
One account per household adult; keep your contact info and property ZIP accurate — dispatch routes by ZIP.
Your words, kept your words. What you tell Verna — your description, your selections, your photos — is stored verbatim and given to the contractor exactly as you said it. Nobody paraphrases you, ever. That record is also what protects you if there's a disagreement later.
One open request per trade per 36 hours. You can have an electrical, a plumbing, and an HVAC request open at once — but a new request in the same trade waits 36 hours. This keeps the system honest for everyone.
Not for emergencies. VoltCare is not an emergency service. Fire, gas smell, sparking, flooding that threatens safety — call 911 or your utility first, every time.
Every contractor on VoltCare passed verification before receiving work: active trade license and liability insurance, checked against issuing sources and monitored for expiration. Every tech's license level is verified by the platform — not self-declared.
Before arrival you see the tech's photo, name, and company. While they're en route and on the job, you can see their location on a map once they're within five miles. If the face at the door doesn't match the face on your screen, don't open the door — and tell us.
Honest limits of verification: we verify credentials and track conduct; we do not perform the work and cannot guarantee workmanship. The repair contract is between you and the contractor. What we do promise is daylight: verified identity, verified license, a live verified bill, and a completion process where your sign-off is required.
Labor accrues from a server-verified clock at the contractor's rates. Parts appear on the bill as the tech checks them out, at the contractor's listed prices — a part with no listed price shows on the bill at $0 rather than surprising you. Nothing lands on the bill that didn't happen in front of you.
A job completes when both you and the contractor confirm it. Until integrated payments launch, you pay the contractor directly by whatever means you two arrange; the VoltCare record is the ledger of what was done and billed. When integrated payments launch, payment will release only on that dual confirmation, and you'll get updated terms before anything changes.
If something's wrong, dispute it — pick the category, say why in your own words, and the job stays open until it's resolved. Fixed to your satisfaction? You can withdraw the dispute yourself and the record shows both honestly. Unresolved after 3 days, a named human at VoltCare reviews it — decisions that move money are made by people, never by software alone.
Daylight goes both ways. Contractors see the same kind of pattern facts about repeat disputes that you benefit from seeing about them. One dispute means nothing and withdrawn disputes are counted separately — but patterns are facts on this platform, for everyone.
Your account info, requests, photos, and job records are yours to see and export. We don't sell your personal information. Your address is shared with the dispatched contractor because they need to find your house, and not otherwise published. Details live in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Push notifications are opt-in, per device, and you can turn them off anytime. Without them we fall back to email for the things that matter.
Don't use VoltCare to harass contractors or techs, file false disputes, coerce sign-offs, or request work at a property you have no authority over. We can suspend accounts for abuse — with the record shown, the same due process everyone on the platform gets.
Close your account anytime — in-app at Delete my account — and ask first if you want an export of your records. Job records already made survive in the contractor's and platform's ledgers — a record of what happened stays a record.
The platform is provided as-is and we don't warrant uninterrupted service. The contractor — not VoltCare — is responsible for the work, and their insurance stands behind it. To the extent Kansas law allows, our total liability to you is capped at one hundred dollars ($100), and neither of us owes the other indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights that Kansas consumer-protection law says can't be limited.
Kansas law governs. Disagreements with us go to good-faith conversation first, then binding arbitration in Douglas County, Kansas — small-claims court always remains available to you. We can update these terms with 30 days' notice; the version you accepted is always in your records. If a term is unenforceable, the rest stands. "VoltCare" means Verna Software LLC, 339 Elm St Apt 6, Lawrence, KS 66044.
